Arteta Praises a More Dependable Squad and Confirms Havertz Injury Blow.

The Gunners' boss remains confident that his squad can persist in handling with injury setbacks after disclosing that attacker Kai Havertz remains out for a few more weeks.

Prolonged Recovery for Havertz

The German forward has been out for months following an operation on his knee. Initially expected to be available sooner, Arteta revealed the player hit a snag when stepping up his training and was unable to move forward “to the next level.”

“We learned, and we were able to put together a group that is much more reliable and has more options,” stated the manager.

Tactical Decisions for Midweek Fixture

This news creates a tactical puzzle for the midweek match against Brentford. Arteta must choose between sticking with Mikel Merino, who got a goal playing out of position on Sunday, or bringing back Viktor Gyökeres, who featured briefly off the bench off the bench. “History has shown us that we have to use players in alternative spots, and they need to be prepared to fulfil different roles if we aim to challenge at the highest level. And the example of Mikel Merino.”

Addressing the complication highlighted by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann, Arteta provided additional context. “He followed all protocols. He failed to advance to the next level and now it’s looking like we have solved that issue.”

The manager conveyed his personal desire to see him return. “We’re all desperate to have him. Honestly, he is a footballer who, in my view, I admire greatly for the qualities he offers to the team, but his character, his attitude. I watch him struggle being outside.”
