Performer Denies Anti-Vax Views Following Narrating Disputed Covid Documentary

The "Taken" star has provided his voice to a feature-length documentary that questions the legitimacy of immunizations and praises one-time health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Disputed Origins

Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a well-known publication published by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the health crisis for assertions that the virus was caused by a problematic version of the influenza shot.

The publication's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with far-right figure Alex Jones. Heckenlively took to social media praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

A Firm Rebuttal

The team of Neeson have released a response pushing back against suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vax beliefs.

"We all recognize that corruption might be present within the medical sector, but that should never be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement reads. "Liam never has been, and is not, anti-vaccination. His long work with the global charity highlights his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

The statement noted that the star was not involved in crafting the documentary's messaging and that questions about its content are best addressed to the filmmakers.

Central Assertions In the Film

As presented, the voiceover read by Neeson features several controversial claims:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have demanded "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "science has become highly influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they just aren't adequately tested."
  • The narration further attacks stay-at-home orders, saying they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of Covid vaccines, it mentions a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."

Historical Controversy and Current Disputes

The film further cites a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was later the topic of a formal apology by the network for editorial breaches.

Last month, Kennedy directed the Centers for Disease Control to change its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This assertion is echoed in the documentary, despite a new report from the global health body stating no connection has been found.

An Earlier Position of Support

Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has previously voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "a remarkable triumph," noting that "The debate about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's voice stating, "This isn't the finish of our journey. This is the start of a new chapter."
