The Renowned Musician Urges Backing to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The effort seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it fails to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The track was produced following a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a group of well-known figures from the scene. All took part in the benefit event, which successfully generated a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of producers and composers. The single features a fusion of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The team running the project have emphasized that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative commented. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was noted for its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of buildings said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The song is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from later in the month.
